The narrative goes that few of the elephants often found roaming around those days at the beachside, which is why locals started addressing it as Elephant’s beach. However, it has nothing to do with elephants anymore.
Elephant Beach Havelock Island is adjacent to Radhanagar beach, but travellers may opt for the boats that are readily available but have to be booked in advance. You can take a fibre boat from the Havelock jetty to reach the Elephant Beach, and the ride is not more than 20-30 minutes. If you are a newbie who wants to take their first plunge into the enthralling world of scuba diving, then Nemo Reef is unarguably the best site in Havelock Island (Swaraj Dweep). It has little to no current and clear visibility throughout the year. This sheltered bay offers conditions like a swimming pool for introductory dive experiences for first timers and confined water training. Here, you can spot little Damsel fish as well as the suitcase-sized humphead parrot fish near the corals. There are mangroves nearby that act as a nursery for juveniles. There is a wide variety of marine creatures in Nemo Reef and you can find absolute solace while exploring it.
